Cats! Cats! EVERYWHERE!!

OK - so when I tell people we have 4 cats (previously 5, but unfortunately Pickles had "issues" thinking he was king of the mountain and therefore could mark his territory EVERYWHERE! so... he went to live in the country. when I say "country" I mean Covington, not side of the road dropped in a pillowcase "country") Anyhow... when I tell people they give me that "crazy cat lady" look and I tell you IT IS NOT ME! My hubby who inherited 3 cats from Trowski LOVES these cats and they LOVE him! They each have their own personalities: Clyde (black cat) is the dominant male and will MEOW as loud as he can on the sink everytime you go into the bathroom, because he needs to drink from running water, not a bowl (eek!). Patches (huge fuzz ball black & white) is our surfer cat. If cats could talk, we are convinced he would say, "Whoa, dude! (insert Keanu Reeves accent here) " Forrest (big ol' black/gray tabby) LOVES Bo and tolerates the rest of us. She has to sleep right in the middle of us and will bite me if I intrude on HER space. And then there is Jenny (smaller black/gray tabby - not pictured). We call her crazy Jenny because she is very skiddish and hides ALOT! She has a tail twitch and will growl, hiss and bite her tail as if it is attacking her. She also loves sausage and will stand by your feet meowing anytime we cook it.

I think we need a bigger bed!

Holiday Photos

In browsing through my holiday photos from this year (and you know I took a MILLION!) these caught my eye.....

So, Santa brought Cade a new skateboard and Jack was determined to gear up and skate. Naturally, he is decked out in his Duke gear (thank you Aunt Wennie!). Could he BE any cuter?

One of the boys FAVORITE stocking stuffers were "shaving kits". Cade got Spongebob & Jackers got Star Wars (or maybe vice versa)..... they could not wait to start shaving!

Ashton & her BFF Jessica wanted to go across the street on NYE at 11:00 p.m. to run around... It's dark, they're not allowed to go outside when it's dark, so of course it's instantaneously cool! Bo being the great Dad that he is ~ sat in the garage watching Dick Clark's NY Rockin' Eve while they ran about.

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year!

I can't believe it's 2008 already! We rang in the New Year playing games with the kids and Ashton's friend Jessica at our house. It was so much fun and we (Bo, Cade & I) beat them at Pictionary - BAD! :) and as you can see ~ Forrest enjoyed it too! I have the usual resolutions.... lose weight, be a better person, but what I'd really like to do this year is spend more time with the people I love. I hope you all have a wonderful and exciting 2008! PS: Happy New Year from Forrest!

Welcome!

Many of my friends have family blogs and I love checking them out, so I thought what better way to share some of the happenings in our busy crazy lives with those we love! I'm not much of a writer, so I will try to convince my genious witty hubby to write some (and yes, flattery works with him!) :) I hope you enjoy postings and photos to come!

A brief history of the Matthews Family ~ It all began when Bo and I met at a wedding almost 6 years ago. I was there on a date with a friend of the groom & it was my first introduction to Bo and his loveable and interesting (yes... we'll go with interesting. this is a family show :)) friends. I quickly ditched the other guy and Bo proceeded to make his move ~ of course, it was all in the name of "friendship". He was charming, sweet and so cute! Little did I know, he was a player from way back ~ BUT, it was love and those "interesting" people are now my best friends and family and I wouldn't trade them for anything! We have been married almost 4 years and have a wonderful family. Ashton, our daughter, is 13 and is textbook 13 year old girl full of attitude, wit & fun. She loves her music, friends, and of course, boys! She is so smart and funny! Naturally, she does not think we could have EVER been teenagers since we are, in her opinion, THE DORKIEST PARENTS EVER! (has she met me?? I'm pretty dang cool - she'll figure out..... it may be another 6-8 years, but she'll get it!) Cade, is the typical middle child. He is 9 years old and is such a cool kid! He loves skateboarding, reading and is currently protesting any sort of haircut. Luckily, it looks really cute on him, so we'll let him slide for now. He is about to start guitar lessons and I'm pretty sure he'll be the rockstar before we know it! And then there's the baby ~ Jack. He is 3 years old and full of cantakerous wit (although unintentional, hilarious none the less!) He loves playing his video game (Star Wars Lego on PS2) and playing outside. He is such a cutie!! We have nicknamed him "his highness" because he is very demanding. Pretty sure we're turning him into a little devil, but he's the last baby, so hopefully it will all even out.

We have a wonderfully hectic & crazy life full of laughter (yes, sometimes that I'm losing my mind psychotic laughter, but that still counts!) and love - I hope you enjoy us sharing it with you!
