What should we do after hunting Easter eggs?? WRESTLE! Of course!

The boys can not get enough wrestling. Jack has told me on many occasions when I attempt to join in, "Mommy, your're not very good at wess-a-ling (3 syllables)." Here is how the pros do it:

Step 1: Attack the big fella 2-on-1

Step 2: Use your ninja skills for balance so you do not get dropped on your head

Step 3: Be patient until the big fella runs out of energy and oxygen & drops to his knees

Final Step: Laugh like crazy & let the big fella "think" he wins! (everyone knows you have him pinned with your jedi/power ranger magic!)

Happy Easter!

We spent Easter Sunday at the Farrell's house for some lovely brunch and Easter Egg Hunting. Jack was not all that excited about the hunting of the eggs, but Cade cleaned up! Miss Ella just wanted to blow some bubbles! What could be more fun?? Wendy made a stop by to show off her F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S Easter Bonnet! Modeled here by Ashton..

1 egg?? That should be enough. I'll just eat the chocolate out of Bubba's.

Bubbles are way more fun that hunting eggs in the cold!

One..... Two...... Three.....

A Day at the Fort Worth Zoo

Bo and I were both off on Good Friday and instituted Mandatory Family Day with a visit to the Fort Worth Zoo. We got there early, so we missed most of the crowds and it was a beautiful day! Jack was a little freaked out at first, but quickly learned that they were in their cages and
couldn't get him. :)

We were among the first people to pay our $1 for the bird seed sticks and they were actually hungry! We had LOTS of birds coming to eat! :)

Hey, we got off the Wells Fargo Wagon ~ remember?!

Cade climbed all the way to the top of the rock climbing exhibit to ring the bell! Way to go Cade-O!

Spring is HERE (well, mostly :)

At least once per year I try to coordinate my monkeys and actually "take" their pictures! Here is this years photo shoot ~ they are so cute and getting so grown up! I am so happy and proud to have such wonderful and amazing children!

Rockin' the HOUSE!

Our home is full of music these days & it is so awesome! Cade is now 6 weeks into his guitar lessons and he is making amazing progress. His first concert will be April 12th and he's very excited. Ashton has also picked up the guitar. Her guitar is named Pablo (Cade has not decided on a name for his yet). Ashton is tossing around the idea of taking lessons, but has decided she would really rather learn to play the drums. Before long ~ we'll have a Rock Band ~ all we need is a tambourine for Jackers and we're set! :)

Here's a video of Ashton & Pablo ~ Pretty amazing considering she has never had a single lesson! Be sure to watch to the end- too funny! She cracks me up! :)

Here's Cade after 3 more lessons ~ He's AWESOME! (the sound quality is awful, so you'll have to turn it up! eventually, I will remember to put the amp right in front of the camera. :))

Taos Sunset

Check out this beautiful Taos sunset!

So Proud!

Most of you know (since I'm pretty sure I told everyone!) that Ashton qualified for the Duke University 7th Grade Talent Search ~ this gave her the opportunity to take the SAT or ACT as a 7th grader. We recieved her scores this week and she did GREAT!!! The percentiles given mean that she scored better than that percentage of COLLEGE BOUND SENIORS (not 7th graders) who took the exam last year ~ WOW!!

Critical Reading: Score: 480 Natl %: 42 State%: 46
Math Score: Score: 430 Natl%: 23 State%: 23
Writing Score: Score: 490 Natl%: 48 State%: 53

We're so proud of Ashton!!!
